Privacy Policy
zhanyisoft ("we") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains how "MemoryCleaner" ("the Software") handles information related to you.
1. Core commitments
1. The Software does not collect, upload, or sell any personal information or usage data. Except for "Check for updates", "Automatic language detection", and "First-launch device registration" described below, the program itself does not connect to the Internet.
Automatic language detection (optional, skippable): On first run the program visits https://ipinfo.io/json once, reads only the country code corresponding to your IP to select the interface language. The request carries no account or device identifier. The result is written to the local lang.txt file and the program goes offline afterwards. If offline or the request fails, it falls back to Chinese. You can delete that file and write a language code manually to skip this entirely.
First-launch device registration (automatic, once): On first launch the program sends your local machine code (the irreversible hash described in section 4.3), the software version, and the operating system name to our server (https://itzhanyi.top/licadmin/api/device.php), so that support can see devices awaiting activation and the activation window can offer "Get activation code with one click". It does not include account, name, contact details, or any identity beyond the IP, and contains no hardware details or usage history. The report is sent successfully only once (retried on a later launch if offline); failure never affects any function. If you do not want this, disconnect from the network before first launch or delete the authorization state file under %APPDATA%\QuitApp and use the offline activation flow.
Check for updates: The Software offers "Check for updates" (enabled by default, can be disabled anytime from the tray menu). When enabled, the program accesses the version announcement file (latest.json) on our own server (https://itzhanyi.top) to determine whether a new version exists. The request goes only to our site, never to third-party code-hosting platforms, and carries only the software name and current version (User-Agent), without any personal information. When a new version is found it only shows a tray notification and never downloads or installs automatically. License validation (trial/activation) is performed entirely locally and does not require the network.
2. The Software contains no advertising components, third-party analytics SDKs, telemetry, or tracking code.
3. All data generated by the Software is stored only on your machine. Except for actions you initiate (see section 4), no data leaves your device.
2. Data stored on your machine
To provide sorting, pinning, search history, and license management, the Software writes the following files in your user directory (all local, never uploaded):
| Location | Content | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\usage.txt | Launch count and background runtime per application | "History + runtime" sorting |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\search_history.txt | Your recent search keywords | Right-click fill of recent searches |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\pinned.txt, pinned_scripts.txt | Your pinned applications / scripts | Pinned rows at the top |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\window.txt | Window position, always-on-top, transparency, sorting, etc. | Restore your preferences |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\autotrim.txt | Interval for scheduled memory release | Scheduled release |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\app.log (and .old) | Runtime log (version, start/exit, errors) | Support diagnostics; rotates above 512 KB |
%TEMP%\QuitApp-err.txt | Stack trace of uncaught exceptions | Crash investigation |
License-related (trial / activated):
| Location | Content |
|---|---|
%APPDATA%\QuitApp\state.dat (DPAPI encrypted) | First-run date, last-run date, activation code |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuitApp\.lic, registry HKCU\Software\QuitApp | Redundant copies of the above (prevent trial reset by deleting a single file) |
The data above belongs to the current Windows user account only. You can view it anytime via the tray menu "Open data folder", or delete it directly (see the EULA for the effect of deleting license data).
3. System information the Software reads
To list running applications and sort them, the Software reads, in memory only: the process list and process paths, window titles, and existing system application usage statistics (registry UserAssist, FeatureUsage, recorded by Windows itself). This information is used only to display and sort on your screen and is never written to the network or sent to anyone.
4. Data sent outside only when you act
The Software has no automatic outbound channel. Only when you actively perform the following does the corresponding data get saved or sent by you:
1. Export the list to CSV: saves the current application list (name, path, PID, memory) to a file you choose.
2. Export diagnostics (tray menu): generates a text file containing the program version, system version, DPI, resolution, license status, local machine code, interface settings, top ten CPU processes, and the full runtime log. The file is saved only where you choose; whether to send it to support is your decision, and you may edit or delete it before sending.
3. Activation: the activation window shows your local machine code (an irreversible hash computed from the system installation identifier and the system disk volume serial number, containing no raw hardware serial numbers). Since v2.1.88, on first launch the program automatically reports the machine code, version, and OS name once as described in section 1, so support can see devices awaiting activation and support "Get activation code with one click"; you may also continue to send the machine code to support yourself. We record in the license ledger: customer name, machine code, activation code, expiry date, issue time, channel — used only for license management (5-device limit, renewal, reissue on hardware change, refund/void), never for any other purpose, and never sold or shared with third parties. It is retained during the license term and for a reasonable period required by after-sales disputes.
5. Minors
The Software is a system utility for adults. It is not directed at children under 14 and does not intentionally collect children's personal information.
6. Policy changes
If a future version adds features involving the network or data collection ("Check for updates" has already shipped, see section 1), we will: update this policy with the new version, state it explicitly in the release notes, and ensure such features do not collect personal data by default and can be disabled by you.
